From comb to jar.
There is more than one way to gather and process honey. At Amethyst Fields, we’re working with a wild-colony harvest that is pressed from comb, and with honey supers that follow a separate process.
01 / Wild colony
Honey pressed from comb
The pressed harvest
Honey, by press.
For this harvest, honeycomb from a wild bee colony is pressed to separate the honey from the wax. It is a hands-on process, handled in a small batch.
We’re photographing the collection and pressing. Those images will show the actual equipment and the work behind this honey.
02 / Honey supers
A separate process
The framed harvest
A different approach.
Our honey supers recently arrived. They hold framed comb and will be processed separately from the pressed wild-colony honey.
We’ll show the tools and steps we use for this batch once the supers are processed.
Small batch, hands on
Care in every step.
Gathering, pressing, handling, and bottling take time. We want you to see the work behind the honey you choose.
